This reframing of dormancy as rejuvenation rather than deprivation is pretty brilliant. We get so caught up in fighting winter instead of recognizing it serves a purpose. Last year I started tracking bud swell on an old maple out back and it totally changed my relationship with the waiting part of gardening. The observation practice also makes seedstarting in spring way more intuitive bcause you've been watching growth patterns for months already, not just trying tofollow a chart.
