Time to Move On
Chris Peck, owner of what was once Bushel Market but is known by old-timers as Blaise’s, said he’s given up his dream and moving on. The store, located across from Clifford Lumber, is closed and Peck said he’s putting it up for sale. He spoke with The Record as someone was moving into the apartment above the store. He’s not sure what he’s going to do next. He said this effort was a success, but added, “I didn’t want to spend the rest of my days selling potato chips.” (gg)

Habitat Project Manager Chris Lane was at the scene on Monday when the crew began to gnaw on the house. Lane told The Record that Habitat hoped to get started right away on the foundation for the six-unit development, but they need to first get state and local building permits. Soon, he hopes.
