CVSD Appoints Committee to Explore Merger with MMU
Act 170, enacted in June, places school districts into 20 “study groups” to form merger committees to explore the benefits and feasibility of a potential new unified school district between neighboring Vermont districts. CVSD and MMUSD were assigned as Group 13. Read the full article here.
Vermont Reads 2026: “Charity and Sylvia” by Tillie Walden
Each year since 2003, Vermont Humanities has invited students, adults, and seniors across the state to read the same book and participate in a wide variety of community activities related to the book’s themes. This year’s selection is a graphic novel set in Weybridge, Vermont, in February 1807. Learn more about this book, and listen to a podcast about it here.
Turf Field Update

Obituary: Rev. Edmund R. Hart
Rev. Edmund R. Hart passed away at UVM Medical Center on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025. Services were held in St. Albans on Saturday, Aug. 22. Interment will be held later in Hinesburg. He was a pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Hinesburg for twenty-five years, and was also a faithful bus driver for CVU high school for 30 years. Read the full obituary here.
